Some Films

A few films that I am looking forward to watching and thought I would pass along.

“Too Sane For This World”

“Excerpt of a feature length documentary about 12 adults with autism. Directed and edited by William Davenport.”

AASCEND Website (Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome Coalition for Education, Networking, and Development)

“Miss Representation”   (Long Version) PG-13? Some rough imagery in both clips.

“Miss Representation” Trailer

“Like drawing back a curtain to let bright light stream in, Miss Representation uncovers a glaring reality we live with every day but fail to see. Written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the film exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media’s limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.”

Interesting stats and song. Miss Representation-“I Will Not Be Afraid of Women”

I have not actually looked up the statistics myself. I may if it becomes an interest, but currently I am on another fixation that is consuming my brain. :-) I think it would be an interesting film to watch though.

“Journey Into Dyslexia”

“JOURNEY INTO DYSLEXIA presents profiles of dyslexic students and adults who share their experiences of struggling in school and then succeeding in life. Academy-Award winning filmmakers Alan and Susan Raymond examine the complexities of this differently structured brain and debunk the myths and misperceptions about dyslexia.”

Excerpt about the film taken from website.

Those are a few for today, I am getting sucked into a documentary cycle again so who knows what I will find. :-)

I am currently watching this one:
